The Pieces of Me

There are so many pieces of me.

Can you see?

Or are they meant just for me?

There are many pieces left unseen.

Pieces held back, pieces set free.

Do you see? These pieces of me?

Pieces I've carved out from a conception of me.

But there is more to me than you will ever see.

Pieces of me that will never be set free.

Fragments here, fragments there.

Fragments intertwined from everywhere

Parts that glow

Parts that don't.

Some full of hope

Some full of won't.

I tried to lay out myself in some order.

To find some perspective, my corners, a border.

But what I found is

each part can't exist on its own.

Together they unite

for my soul, build a home.

So I put back together these pieces of me.

But there are cracks in the surface

if you look, can you see?

They let in the light and they let out the fear.

Or is it vice versa?

I have no idea.

I'm still trying to understand these pieces of me.

That build a vessel for my spirit

and teach it to be free.
